After listening the word ‘Tabloid’ it is highly likely that we all will raise our eyebrows as it is not a very common term as far as Printing machines are concerned. Originated in London by a pharmaceutical company who entitled this name to it’s compressed tablets, being marketed as “Tabloid” pills. After this incident, a proprietor in London, decided to generate newsprints in the form of ‘Tabloid’.

Compact Tabloids – An editorial style engrossed with broadsheet newspapers. The major purpose is to fade away the writing style of Red top tabloids. This style was picked up by the major newspapers of London such as Daily Mail, Daily Express etc. in 1970s.

Moving further the term got associated with Printing machines that print ‘Tabloids’. A trend of wide format printers has recently come into picture that incorporates the Tabloids of two types – Tabloid and Super tabloid printers.

The size of Tabloid printers is 11 × 17 inches and Super Tabloid printers is 13 × 17 inches.
